It\u2019s a lovely day here in Japan, and I\u2019ve got some exciting news and a question for you.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m about to experience something that I\u2019m sure many of you have experienced before: my family is coming to visit me.<\/p>\n
Of course, I\u2019m excited to take them to all my favourite spots around my house, and show them a good time, as we say.<\/p>\n
Hey, let\u2019s look at show someone a good time<\/i><\/b> as an English phrase. To show someone a good time <\/i><\/b>means to be a \u2018tour guide\u2019 for someone, and to help someone have a good experience somewhere. For example,<\/p>\n I visited my friend in Osaka, and <\/i>they<\/i><\/b> <\/i>showed me a good time<\/i><\/b>, taking me to a <\/i>\u4e32\u30ab\u30c4<\/span> restaurant!<\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n So, of course, I want to show my family a good time<\/strong> when they visit. I\u2019ve already arranged a rental car for them, since my car is a little \u8efd\u81ea\u52d5\u8eca<\/span>, or \u2018baby\u2019 car as I like to call it!<\/p>\n We\u2019ve also made reservations for a few restaurants, and more importantly, I\u2019ve booked a trip to Yakushima as well!<\/p>\n I can\u2019t wait to show my family the beauty of the island. They\u2019re from Canada, so they\u2019re used to beautiful natural scenery, but Yakushima is still worth a trip for them! We can\u2019t wait to hang out with the Yakushima monkeys and deer!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But, here\u2019s my question for you: what do you do when someone comes and visits you?<\/strong><\/p>\n In particular, if your visitors are from a different country, or area, what do you do? It\u2019s very different from hosting \u2018local\u2019 friends, right? It really all depends who is visiting.<\/p>\n For my visit, my family has all been to Japan before. This will be their second visit, so I want to show them something \u2018different\u2019<\/strong>. They\u2019ve visited the main spots, and seen enough of Tokyo!<\/p>\n So, do you have any suggestions?<\/p>\n In addition, when you visited people in other prefectures or countries, how did they \u2018show you around\u2019? What were some of the highlights.<\/p>\n For example, did they show you something that made you think, \u2018Wow! Without them, I never would have seen this!\u2019<\/strong> I want to hear about those kinds of experiences.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I\u2019m running out of time, but take a look at this lovely picture of Yakushima! You probably haven\u2019t travelled for a long time (this trip for my family is the first-time leaving Canada in 3 years!), so why not make your first trip amazing: a learning AND studying opportunity!<\/p>\n You can deduct it from your taxes ;).<\/p>\n\n
