Greetings fellow interneters (not a real word, but I\u2019m going to use my artistic license and roll with it)! It\u2019s been just a month, but it feels like even longer since the last time I shared what\u2019s on my mind.<\/p>\n
And what a difference a month makes! I hate to risk re-treading the same path, but I want to start this little blog off with a quote that I\u2019m pretty sure I\u2019ve used before, but is still just as apt today.<\/p>\n

Tell me if this sounds familiar. You\u2019ve had something on your to-do list for ages. It\u2019s always been in the back of your mind, gnawing away at your conscience. However, you just can\u2019t bring yourself around to doing it. You always think, \u2018Today\u2019s the day that I\u2019m going to start on (insert important task here). No more procrastinating.\u2019 We\u2019ve all been there, right?<\/p>\n
Well, as an aside, I\u2019m probably \u201cthere\u201d every month with this little blog, but that\u2019s a whole other can of worms!<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a common problem though, right?<\/p>\n
Even though we know <\/strong>it\u2019s better to just get the task out of the way, so that we can stop worrying about it, what do we do? Nothing! That\u2019s a fundamental problem with our thinking: doing nothing <\/strong>is easier than doing something<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But, I recently started on one of those to-do list items. In fact, it was an absolutely huge <\/strong>item: my long, long, loooooong overdue Misconception 3 Course!<\/p>\n
Well, I can proudly and happily say that I finally conquered my apathy and got started <\/strong>on my Misconception 3 Course. And do you know what? It\u2019s been super fun!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
I forgot how much I loved the process of making courses. First, I start off going through my collection of teaching material. A fun fact is that I save and collect lots of mistakes and work when I notice common errors. I know it might seem like I repeat it ad nauseam in my courses, but the misconceptions I introduce really<\/strong> are real <\/strong>examples from students.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve really been enjoying going through all the different errors I\u2019ve collected and grouping them into categories. I can immediately see how the skeleton of the textbooks is going to look like. Then, once I start writing, I think of all the different tangents and sidetracks I can lead students on, to further their learning. I truly enjoy everything about teaching, and I\u2019m so excited to share my passion and my oft-delayed fruits of my labour.<\/p>\n
