In saying that, I thought it would go into some words that describe 2020.

2020年を英単語で表すと？

Let’s just say it was tumultuous to say the least. Tumultuous means full of tumult or riotousness; marked by disturbance and uproar. For example: a tumultuous situation.

Another word that comes to mind is onerous, which means burdensome, oppressive, or troublesome; causing hardship. For example: one might have onerous circumstances – some that come to mind for me are having to wear a mask absolutely everywhere, social distancing, lockdowns, and curfews name a few.

Next up might be oppressive, which means burdensome, unjustly harsh, or tyrannical. For example: an oppressive king; oppressive laws. This year in Thailand, we have seen our fair share of these laws – both for public safety against the coronavirus, but some might argue also to stop the protests and freedom of speech against the government as well.

One that also matches some earlier parts of this year well. When we were in full lock down, nobody hardly dared go out on the streets and there was a curfew for 9:30pm, there was definitely a sense of foreboding, which means a strong inner feeling or notion of a future misfortune, or evil, etc.

Fortunately though Thailand handled the virus extremely well and we have been virtually virus free for almost five months, things are completely normal for the most part, and we have free rein to do anything again. Free rein means unlimited freedom to act or make decisions.

With vaccines on their way and travel bubbles being planned, 2021 hopefully looks like it could be a much more rose-colored year. Rose colored means cheerful or optimistic, especially to an excessive degree – let us all hope that it really is.

On that note, I wish that all the best things that happened to you this year are the worst in the year to come.

Have some great holidays, and a happy new year to you all!

Hi everyone, Well as this stormy year finally draws to a close, I think everyone will be happy to see it gone and committed to history along with the coronavirus, the US elections, the worldwide prote…

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[230,5,3
63,33
0":"post-3259","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-native","8":"category-asia","9":"category-liveabroad","10":"tag-lifestyle","11":"tag-33","12":"article cf
["GET
