\u201dMeigetsu san\u201d is the custom passed down from ancient times only in the limited part of the district in Ogori, Fukuoka.<\/p>\n
Children visit neighbors in the evening and get some candies just like Halloween, but it has some differences from Halloween.<\/p>\n
First, it takes place on the Harvest moon night in September. Next, the children don\u2019t dress up as something. \u201cMeigetsu san\u201d doesn\u2019t have any connection with ancestral souls, so you don\u2019t need any ghost decorations or anything scary.<\/p>\n
Originally, the holiday started by giving offerings to the full moon with appreciation for the harvest of the year. And also, the children sing a unique chant instead of saying \u201ctrick or treat\u201d to
