Hi everyone, it’s Rodd!<\/p>\n

As some of you might know, after twenty years of living in Japan, I decided to move to Thailand.\u00a0 <\/span>One of many reasons I fell in love with Thailand and its culture was the very cheap and delicious street food.\u00a0 <\/span>It is no joke, that I can walk outside of my place and within a minute I will find carts of\u00a0 <\/span>food parked outside or being pushed along the road by smiling happy people.<\/p>\n

It’s impossible to avoid street food in Thailand, where sidewalk vendors operate on a fixed rotation. Some take care of the breakfast crowd with sweet soymilk and bean curd, others dish up fragrant rice and poached chicken for lunch. The late-night crowd offers everything from phad thai noodles to grilled satay or a nice big plate full of grilled insects!<\/p>\n

Some sell fresh tropical fruit such as pineapples, mangosteens, mangos, papayas,\u00a0<\/span>guavas, coconuts and even jackfruit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\"\"\n

I can buy any of these for about 60 yen!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>The vendor\u00a0will cook it or cut it up in front of you and serve it within a few seconds flat. Yum!<\/p>\n\"\"\n

Food is not the only thing they sell though.\u00a0 <\/span>There are people selling shoes, clothes, sunglasses, underwear, beach toys, and even things like tasers and hunting knives!\u00a0 <\/span>Some of the markets where these vendors congregate are huge and go all night.\u00a0 <\/span>You can never get enough of it. All the colours and smells and big smiles are very addictive and very very easy on your wallet which suits me perfectly!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
