\nLet’s talk about Rajasthan today!
\nRajasthan(\u30e9\u30fc\u30b8\u30e3\u30b9\u30bf\u30fc\u30f3) is a state located in northwestern India.
\n 
\nIt’s a capital city is Jaipur(\u30b8\u30e3\u30a4\u30d7\u30eb). It boasts a rich history as a result of which we can come across exotic places like medieval forts and palaces. Rajasthan means the ‘Abode of the Rajas’.
\n‘Rajas’ refers to ‘princes’. <\/b>
\n 
\nIt used to be called Rajputana(\u30e9\u30fc\u30b8\u30d7\u30fc\u30bf\u30fc\u30ca\u30fc) in the past which means ‘The Country of the Rajputs’.
\nIt is one of the most dynamic states in the country with a generous dash of history, culture, music, and cuisine. It abounds in beautiful palaces and impressive forts.
\n 
\nIn addition to that, there are deserts filled with golden sand where you can ride on camels!
\n   
\nRajasthan consists of eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites and contains majestic palaces and thriving cities.

In the 9th century, the Rajput(\u30e9\u30fc\u30b8\u30d7\u30fc\u30c8;\u73fe\u5728\u306e\u30e9\u30fc\u30b8\u30e3\u30b9\u30bf\u30fc\u30f3\u5dde\u306b\u5c45\u4f4f\u3059\u308b\u6c11\u65cf) dynasty(\u738b\u671d) took control of the state. The Rajputs were warriors and during their rule, the state grew tremendously.
\n 
\nWhen you walk along the lanes and streets of Rajasthan, you will come across historical structures, for example, forts, palaces, and temples all of which were built by the Rajput clan(\u30e9\u30fc\u30b8\u30d7\u30fc\u30c8\u6c11\u65cf;\u6226\u58eb\u96c6\u56e3\u305f\u308b\u30af\u30b7\u30e3\u30c8\u30ea\u30e4\u306e\u5b50\u5b6b).

\nBut over the centuries, the Rajput empire weakened and eventually split up into 21 dynasties and 36 royal clans. The unity among them was lost. Before India gained independence in 1947, this place consisted of several princely states and chiefships.
\n 
\nFollowing independence, these states and chiefships got integrated into India and the modern state of Rajasthan was born.<\/p>\n

\nLet’s talk about some of the cities of Rajasthan.
\nJaipur(\u30b8\u30e3\u30a4\u30d7\u30fc\u30eb) is the capital of Rajasthan.
\nIn the heart of the city, there is the City Palace in which the former royal family lives.
\n 
\nBesides, the Jantar Mantar(\u30b8\u30e3\u30f3\u30bf\u30eb\u30fb\u30de\u30f3\u30bf\u30eb) (which is an observatory;\u5927\u578b\u306e\u65e5\u6642\u8a08\u304a\u3088\u3073\u5929\u4f53\u89b3\u6e2c\u65bd\u8a2d) is an important attraction. Jodhpur is known for its majestic forts and palaces.
\n 
\nIt is the second-largest city of Rajasthan and is a huge tourist attraction in the country.
\nIt has a desert climate as a result of which November and March happen to be the best time to travel to Jodhpur(\u30b8\u30e7\u30fc\u30c9\u30d7\u30eb).
\n 
\nJaisalmer is a prominent place and known for its grand and charming forts and palaces.
\nThe old city of Jaisalmer(\u30b8\u30e3\u30a4\u30b5\u30eb\u30e1\u30fc\u30eb) was enclosed by a long wall earlier, although nothing remains now except the giant gates and fort which towers over the city.
\n   
\nThe three most famous forts in Rajasthan are the Amber Fort(\u30a2\u30f3\u30d9\u30fc\u30eb\u57ce) in Jaipur, the Mehrangarh Fort(\u30e1\u30d8\u30e9\u30fc\u30f3\u30ac\u30eb\u57ce) in Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer Fort(\u30b8\u30e3\u30a4\u30b5\u30eb\u30e1\u30fc\u30eb\u57ce).
\nAlso, there are quite a lot of historically significant palaces.
\n 
\nSome of the more famous palaces are the Umaid Bhawan Palace(\u30a6\u30e1\u30a4\u30c9\u30d0\u30ef\u30f3\u30d1\u30ec\u30b9) and the Jaipur City Palace.
\n 
\nIn addition, this princely state is host to various fairs and festivals all of which draw a huge number of travelers from both within India and overseas.
\n 
\nSome of these are Pushkar Fair(\u30d7\u30b7\u30e5\u30ab\u30eb\u30d5\u30a7\u30a2), Jaipur Literature Festival(\u6587\u5b66\u796d), Jodhpur Flamenco Gypsy Festival, Jaipur Heritage International Festival, Desert Festival, Urs(\u30a6\u30eb\u30b9;\u30a4\u30f3\u30c9\u306e\u796d\u308a) at Ajmer and Teej.

\nLet’s introduce you to some of the dances of this state.
\nThere is a dance known as ‘ghoomar'(\u30e9\u30b8\u30e3\u30b9\u30bf\u30f3\u306e\u4f1d\u7d71\u7684\u306a\u30d5\u30a9\u30fc\u30af\u30c0\u30f3\u30b9).
\nIt is performed only by women on festive occasions. In addition, there is a dance called geer which is performed by both men and women, the panihari(\u30d1\u30cb\u30cf\u30ea;\u30dc\u30ea\u30a6\u30c3\u30c9\u6620\u753b), performed by women, and the kacchi gori(\u30a4\u30f3\u30c9\u306e\u30d5\u30a9\u30fc\u30af\u30c0\u30f3\u30b9), in which male dancers can be seen riding on dummy horses.
