{"id":1909,"date":"2018-11-22T01:00:04","date_gmt":"2018-11-21T16:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fruitfulenglish.com\/blog\/?p=1909"},"modified":"2019-05-20T16:34:56","modified_gmt":"2019-05-20T07:34:56","slug":"beth-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fruitfulenglish.com\/blog\/beth-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Colorful ways to use the words &#8220;thank you&#8221; in the English language!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi, guys!!\u00a0 Thanks for dropping in to read a bit!\u00a0 This is Beth &#8211; the English speaking \u304a\u3070\u3061\u3083\u3093 &#8211;\u00a0here, hoping\u00a0to\u00a0expand a little on \u00a0two VERY simple words:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>&#8220;thank you&#8221;!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>For those of you studying English, you might think you know everything there is to know about these &#8220;beginner-level&#8221; words!\u00a0 I bet if you keep on reading, you&#8217;ll find something new!!\u00a0 IF you don&#8217;t, then WOW!!<\/p>\n<p>Ok!!\u00a0 Here we go!!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Thanks a million!&#8230;..<\/strong><\/span>this is easy?<\/p>\n<p>Just in case I lost you there, &#8220;thanks a million&#8221; just means &#8220;thank you very much&#8221; in a more casual tone!\u00a0 A million (1,000,000) is a really big number, so you can easily see where this English came from!\u00a0 Some might say &#8220;thanks a bunch&#8221; instead (a bunch meaning a lot)!<\/p>\n<p>Ok!!\u00a0 So, next,\u00a0 how about we\u00a0 look at two FUN? ones!!<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Thanks to &#8230;..<\/span> \/\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800080;\">No thanks to &#8230;..<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ok, so, let&#8217;s look at the first one!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We use these words when we want to say &#8220;thank you, &#8230;..was possible because of&#8230;!\u00a0 Let&#8217; s try using it:<\/p>\n<p>\u201d I passed my test on the first try,<span style=\"color: #993366;\"> <strong>thanks to<\/strong> <\/span>all of my teachers and study friends! \u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201d We were able to finish painting the community center in one day, <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">thanks\u00a0to <\/span><\/strong>all of the volunteers! \u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u300c&#8230;..\u306e\u304a\u304b\u3052\u3067\u3001\u300dis the Japanese I would use here.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">#Be careful!!\u00a0<\/span> If you say &#8220;thanks to&#8230;..&#8221; in an angry, irritated, ugly, etc. tone, the meaning TOTALLY CHANGES!!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It becomes \u300c&#8230;..\u306e\u305b\u3044\u3067\u3001\u300d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<span style=\"color: #808000;\"><strong>Thanks to<\/strong> <\/span>my messy brother, we have to clean the room again!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Now, we&#8217;ll move on to the second one!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We use these words when we want to point out\u00a0people or things that\u00a0could have\/should have helped with something,\u00a0but didn&#8217;t!\u00a0 I&#8217;ll give you some examples:<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; We finished distributing the fliers, <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>no thanks<\/strong> <strong>to<\/strong> <\/span>our lazy coworkers (who didn&#8217;t help)!\u00a0 &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>No thanks to<\/strong> <\/span>my sister(who messed with her phone the entire time), we finally finished getting dinner on the table!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>*****When someone helps you out with something and you want to say a casual &#8220;<span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>thank you, \u52a9\u304b\u3063\u305f<\/strong><\/span>,&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 here are two\u00a0extras:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>&#8220;You&#8217;re a lifesaver!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>&#8220;What would I do without you?&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I hope you picked up something new here!!\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong> Thanks<\/strong> <\/span>for reading!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi, guys!!\u00a0 Thanks for dropping in to read a bit!\u00a0 This is Beth &#8211; the English speaking \u304a\u3070\u3061\u3083\u3093 &#8211;\u00a0here, hoping\u00a0to\u00a0expand a little on \u00a0two VERY simple words:\u00a0 &#8220;thank you&#8221;!
