This is Beth, here to remind you how important details are!<\/p>\n

I found this out the hard way!<\/p>\n

First, let me get your opinion…!
\nDo you think of something big, or little when you hear the word \u6c34\u8def?<\/p>\n

In English, “a small gutter” & “a waterway” are 2 VERY different\u00a0things!\u00a0 In Japanese, too, \u6e9d & \u6c34\u8def are \u5168\u7136\u9055\u3046\uff01<\/p>\n

Here’s my story…..<\/p>\n

SO, I found out recently that the waterway in front of my house is my (family’s) responsibility!!<\/p>\n

My first (and somewhat continuing) reaction:<\/p>\n

\u30a6\u30bd\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3063\uff01<\/p>\n

No way!!<\/p>\n

\u3042\u308a\u5f97\u306a\u3044\uff01<\/p>\n

This is not just a little gutter…..it is a waterway!!\u00a0 It is at least 2 meters deep and 1 meter wide\u3002\u3002\u3002<\/p>\n

Would you get down into something that size to clean it?<\/p>\n

Not that much water flows through, but there are SPIDERs and BUGs!!<\/p>\n

When we bought the house, the real estate agent nonchalantly said: \u3054\u5fc3\u914d\u306a\u304f\uff01<\/p>\n

\u6c34\u8def\u306f\u5e02\u306e\u3082\u306e\u3067\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n

\u753a\u5185\u4f1a\u306e\u307f\u306a\u3055\u3093\u304c\u6bce\u5e74\u304d\u308c\u3044\u306b\u3055\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002<\/p>\n

A word of advice here:\u00a0 ALWAYS ask for the details!<\/p>\n

As you can probably guess, we did NOT get all of the “important” information!<\/p>\n

Six months later, we found ourselves stuck with the responsibility of cleaning this \u6c34\u8def!<\/p>\n

It seems every house owner cleans whatever is in front of his\/her home!<\/p>\n

By the way, here is a picture of the little gutters most of our neighbors get to sweep the dirt out of!!<\/p>\n\"\"\n

\u3053\u306e\u9055\u3044\u308f\u304b\u308a\u307e\u3059\uff1f<\/p>\n

Long story short, we hired some guys to clean it for us…..what you are seeing is the clean version!<\/p>\n

It cost us a little, but HEY, it’s \u30d4\u30ab\u30d4\u30ab\/?\u00a0 AND the \u753a\u5185\u4f1a is happy!<\/p>\n

I believe: “Getting along is what’s important”!<\/p>\n
